The Importance Of Removing Your Make-Up At Night!

Hey everybody! Welcome back to another blog post!

I hope you all had a great and safe Halloween!
I can't believe we're in the month of November already the time is absolutely flying by!

This week I'm back with the importance of removing your makeup at night. I saw an article floating around all social media the past week or so and If anybody else follows beauty pages on Facebook or Instagram I'm sure you Read or heard about the statement Kim Kardashian made in relation to her make-up removal (or lack there of) at night. And it gave me some inspiration to share with all of you the importance of removing your makeup at night and keeping your skin as healthy as possible, especially if you wear makeup on a daily basis! quickly, Here is the quote Kim made:

"I’m going to make this quick because my heartburn just kicked in, but Charlotte Tilbury is my hero because she has never let her husband see her without makeup on. She sleeps with her makeup on. She’s my idol. She’s inspired me when I am really lazy and I can’t do my makeup the next day, so I’ll sleep in my makeup. I know that’s probably the worst advice, but she has all the magic creams to put on the next day to make up for it"

Above is a picture of Kim and Charlotte, clearly two stunning successful women, which is why I think it's a bit nuts how Kim stated that Charlotte is her hero for not letting her husband seeing her without makeup on and sleeps with it on purposely. Personally I was shocked by that statement, Kim is such a huge public figure and has such a huge following of women but especially younger girls, who could possibly think that it's okay to feel as though you should look perfect for a man 24/7, which in this day and age is crazy! and if a man really cares about you he wouldn't expect you to do that but that's just my own opinion!

I love Kim Kardashian, I do have respect for her style and her determination when it comes to business as I do with Charlotte Tilbury and her amazing brand, so this post is in no way trying to bad mouth either one of them, I'm just getting my own opinion across.

Now onto the importance of makeup removal! I know after a night out or a long day doing a full cleansing routine is the last thing you're concerned with, but it really is important to leave your skin breathe during the night. So cleansing every night really is essential whether you have been wearing makeup during the day or not because your skin is always exposed to dirt and pollution in the air. So even if you don't have the energy to cleanse every night at least keep a packet of wipes by the bed to get it off before you go to sleep.
Here are a few reasons why it is so important to remove your makeup before you go to sleep!

1) Getting Rid Of Free Radicals

Whether you wear makeup or not during the day, your skin is still breathing in dirt, pollution and residue in the atmosphere. So giving your skin a good cleanse every night will wash all that residue off your face, otherwise it can cling to your skin which an age it faster!

2) Leaving Your Skin Breathe

Blocked pores are a one way ticket to breakouts, uneven texture, blackheads and problematic skin in general! During sleep our skin repairs itself and sleeping in your makeup denies your skin of oxygen thus Preventing it from repairing. Which leads your skin to look dull, feel sensitive and more than likely break out.

3) Dirty Pillowcases/Duvet

Sleeping with your makeup is probably going to smudge your cases and the top of your duvet in mascara, foundation, bronzer. And although these can be washed off they are going to cause so much bacteria to grow on the fabric which will lead to breakouts. So if you are breaking out around your jawline or the sides of you face, try washing your pillowcases once or twice a week and see if there is any difference in your skin!

4) Getting Enough Sleep

Getting beauty sleep is no myth, every time we sleep or skin is repairing and regenerating cells. It is crucial to anti-aging. If you remove your makeup every night and apply a rich night cream and eye cream, You will keep your skin looking fresh and supple.

If you try and take the extra 5 minutes to remove your makeup every night and apply the right creams your skin really will reap the benefits and if you have problematic skin, try some of the above tips such as changing your pillow cases and you could see a big difference in the quality of your skin. Sometimes when we get breakouts we can quickly blame it on new makeup, creams, food, or even hormones, but a lot of us don't think about the bacteria that is residing on our pillowcases and/or duvet covers. And to achieve a flawless makeup application it's important to remember it is so important to keep your skin healthy and cleansed and you makeup will apply so nicely and look smooth and stunning!

I hope you found this post helpful!
In the next few weeks I'll be writing a post on my own skincare routine and how it keeps my skin relatively clear and smooth even though I wear makeup almost everyday!

Have a great weekend everyone!
Until the next time.
